Bespoke Iveco Eurocargo heads to prestige car dealer04 October 2012

Ferrari and Maserati dealer Carrs of Exeter has taken delivery of a custom-built, high-specification Iveco Eurocargo 75E18/P.

The 4x2 Eurocargo rigid truck has been fitted with an uprated 3,600kg front axle and rear air-suspension, together with air-conditioning.

It is powered by the 3.9-litre FPT EEV (enhanced environmentally friendly vehicle) rated Tector engine, which delivers up to 177bhp at 2,700rpm, and 570Nm of torque between 1,250 and 2,100rpm.

The rigid, supplied by Hendy Truck & Van, has been mounted with a bespoke covered car transporter body, built by J&J Conversions in Andover.

Lee Moore, dealer principal at Carrs of Exeter, says the truck provides a smooth ride and a low approach angle – critical when loading sports cars worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

"We were in the market to replace our covered car transporter and considered a number of options, but the Iveco Eurocargo offered the best all-round solution," states Moore.

"Each year we clock up more than 100,000km collecting and delivering vehicles from all over the UK," he continues.

"The Ferrari Formula One team relies on Iveco trucks for moving its racing cars by road, so we felt the Eurocargo would be more than suitable for our own requirements."
