Best and brightest technicians recognised at irtec Awards 16 April 2013

Engineering skills were recognised at the annual irtec Awards at last week's CV Show, with David Rivers from SPR Trailer Services, David Thompson of Tyson H Burridge, Kevin Neal from Ainscough Crane Hire and Tim Twidale of DSV Commercials the top-scoring technicians.

Sponsored by Halfords Trade, the irtec Awards recognise excellence among irtec-licensed technicians.

"I was delighted to receive the irtec award at the CV Show – I felt privileged to be associated with such accomplished and dedicated people," said Twidale.

"I was introduced to irtec in my role as a quality and compliance controller with DSV Commercials. We have trained and put through most of our technicians and this is now part of our training and recruitment practice," he continued.

"I really believe that irtec accreditation is of the utmost benefit to the transport industry and I would like to thank Chris Marshall and MAN for their support and for putting me forward for my irtec licence," he added.

"The job of a technician has changed so much in the 30 years since I first started in the trade, and it helps enormously to be kept up to date with the latest developments," stated Thompson.

"I was very pleased and surprised to win an award, and would like to thank Tyson H Burridge, and in particular Neil Robinson, for providing an on-going training and development programme."
