Bevan Group severs link with repairs operation18 January 2011

Bevan Group, the dry freight commercial vehicle bodybuilder, has completed the sale of its Truck Engineering division.

Truck Engineering, which is based in the Black Country town of Darlaston was the subject of a management buyout for an undisclosed sum.

Bevan acquired a majority stake in Truck Engineering seven years ago, to handle major repair work that its own field engineers could not complete at customer locations.

However, Bevan managing director Anthony Bevan says that, unlike other parts of the business, Truck Engineering retained some autonomy.

Also, significant investments have increased Bevan's capabilities both in its field-based aftercare team and at its Halesowen and Oldbury facilities.

"This development gives us total control over the scheduling of repair work and will enable us to further improve the industry-leading quality of service we already offer our customers," states Bevan.

"I would like to take this opportunity to wish Mark Jones [Truck engineering managing director] and his colleagues the very best of luck for the future," he adds.
