Beverley Bell, senior traffic commissioner and now patron of the IRTE (Institute of Road Transport Engineers) is to present the inaugural IRTE Fleet Engineer of the Year 2016 Awards.

Mrs Bell, who is a well know advocate of excellence throughout transport operations, will hand over the top prizes at the IRTE Conference dinner on 27 September 2016 at Eastwood Hall, in Nottinghamshire.

The IRTE Fleet Engineer of the Year Awards, which are free to enter, are aimed at recognising individuals capable of demonstrating exceptional standards of professional competence, and success in implementing innovations that improve operational performance, compliance and safety.

There are separate award categories for HGV, and bus and coach, and the awards are open to all engineers and technicians working throughout road transport.

Deadline for submissions is 30 June 2016.

All shortlisted fleet engineers will be invited to attend the dinner event, which will be hosted by former England world cup winning rugby star Ben Kay.
