Brewery delivers responsibly with first Fuso Canter09 February 2015

Brewery business Moorhouse has taken delivery of its first Fuso Canter truck and says the vehicle “performed brilliantly” during its busiest season over Christmas and New Year.

Supplied by dealer Ciceley Commercials, the Burnley-based operator's latest addition is a 7.5-tonne Canter 7C15, with a 150bhp 3-litre, four-cylinder engine. Its curtainsider body is by Fosters Commercials of Preston.

The vehicle can carry a load of 4.2 tonnes, which Moorhouse's transport manager David Foley describes as "excellent". "We can load our new Canter with no fewer than 82 nine-gallon casks," he says.

"It's more than three times what we could manage in a 3.5-tonne van, which takes up almost as much road space, and also far ahead of the payload capacity of a traditional – and far heavier – 7.5-tonne truck."

The vehicle is funded through an Agility contract from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.

Moorhouse's fleet also includes a pair of Mercedes Atego 12-tonners and a 3.5-tonne Sprinter van.
