Brewery takes T with first Renault Euro 6 trucks09 January 2014

Independent brewery and pub retailer Marston's has taken delivery of two of the UK's first Euro 6 Renault trucks.

Supplied by Allports Truck Centre, the two Range T 440.26 6x2 TML E6 tractor units extend the company's 23-strong fleet based in Burton-on-Trent.

The Range Ts went into operation last month and are transporting Marston's range of premium cask and bottled ales to its depots and to supermarkets across the UK, pulling one of five bulk tankers, five double-deck trailers or 60 curtainside trailers.

Marston's fleet was primarily Scania and Volvo, but it acquired its first Renault Premiums in 2011 – and, says Chris Evans, head of group logistics, they delivered better fuel performance and reliability.

"The consistent performance of the Premiums gave us the confidence to make our first Euro 6 purchases, the Renault Range Ts," he says.
