Brian Yeardley Continental fits fleet-wide Predator tank alarms22 April 2015

Brian Yeardley Continental has fitted Predator fuel tank alarms to its entire truck fleet having carried out what it describes as extensive trials.

The operator went for Predator because it protects both fuel pick up pipes on their twin tank trucks and the fuel caps for maximum fuel security.

Brian Yeardley managing director Kevin Hopper also points to the system's driver panic button, fitted in the cab to aid the driver in an emergency – which, he believes will be a "massive deterrent to any would-be thief".

Says Hopper: "The cost of the alarm system fitted to our twin tanks is far cheaper than the loss of 1,400 litres of fuel at the side of the road, plus the damage the thieves do to the tanks."

And he adds: "Then there is the delay to journey times while things are sorted out – so it's a no brainer really."
