Bridmin pumps up non hazard tanker fleet 31 January 2011

Midlands-based waste management specialist Bridmin has ordered its fourth VacuumWhale articulated tanker in 12 months.

The privately owned firm, which also handles commercial transportation rental, reports that the latest non-hazardous tanker will join the company's existing units working on long-term and standard hire contracts.

Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel and fitted to tri-axle semi trailer running gear, the frameless articulated VacuumWhales have a carrying capacity of 29,500 litres. They are plated for 44 tonnes gvw and will carrying sewage and other non-hazardous sludges.

As for on-board suction, vacuum power is delivered via a Mistral series exhauster/compressor with secondary cutout, with an operating pressure of 1 bar – all complying with the Pressure Systems Regulations SI 1999 2001 Directive 97/23/EC.

"While the new Whale tankers have strengthened our overall fleet capabilities, they have been purchased to support the growth that we have been successful in achieving," comments Dave Bridges, Bridmin's director and grandson of the founder.

"Whale's tankers are proven to be extremely effective pieces of frontline equipment that represent the best that money can buy. And while the build quality is something to be admired, so too is the back-up and aftersales support that Whale provides," he adds.
