Brigade marches in with new driver display25 April 2019

Vehicle safety systems supplier Brigade Electronics will be launching its new Ultrasonic Detection on-screen display (pictured), an integrated device designed to reduce information overload for drivers, at the forthcoming Commercial Vehicle Show (NEC; 30 April to 2 May).

Working in conjunction with a camera monitor system and up to two ultrasonic detection systems, the on-screen display (OSD) module warns the driver of obstacles close to the vehicle by overlaying three-stage audible and visual ultrasonic data on to the camera image on the vehicle’s monitor, giving the driver all the information needed in one view.

Brigade’s side-mounted ultrasonic systems all have a new ‘mute function’, where the audible warning is silenced after four seconds if the vehicle is stationary and no movement is detected. When either the vehicle or other objects – such as pedestrians and cyclists – begin to move again, the system resumes normal operation.

The company will also be exhibiting its latest generation Backeye360 system, giving more camera view options and a 22% larger image size on the display.

Other products on display will include Backsense, which Brigade claims is the most affordable and robust radar on the market, and the bbs-tek white sound reversing alarm.
