British milk deliveries switch on to StreetScooter05 June 2018

UK home delivery business Milk & More, part of Müller, has ordered 200 electric vehicles from Deutsche Post DHL subsidiary StreetScooter, describing it as “the ideal vehicle”.

Milk & More has specified the Work L Box model with a box-type van body that is similar to that used for postal deliveries in Germany. Its usable box volume is 8m3 and the load compartment is refrigerated.

The operator has specified left-hand drive versions, to enable drivers to get out of the vehicle more safely on the pavement side of the street.

Patrick Müller, Milk & More’s managing director, says “We wanted to make this unique tradition relevant again to the requirements of today’s customers.

“To do this, we need a local product portfolio, new IT systems, as well as reliable, quiet and environmentally friendly vehicles. In the StreetScooter, we have found the ideal vehicle for our needs.”

As well as a range of local products, Milk & More delivers over 100 million traditional ‘pints’ to British householders each year. The glass bottles are collected, cleaned and reused on average 25 times.
