BT accelerates broadband rollout with Fiat Doblo Cargo order10 July 2014

BT Openreach has taken delivery of 1,800 Fiat Doblò Cargo Maxi vans, which are being put into operation transporting its engineering team around the UK to expand the high-speed fibre broadband network.

The vehicles were chosen for their reliability, low running costs, manoeuvrability, payload, comfort and ease of operation, according to confirms Duncan Webb, commercial director at BT Fleet.

"With a fleet of hard-working vehicles of this size it was important to have the right vehicles," confirms Webb.

The Fiat Doblò Cargo offers a 1-tonne payload and load volume of up to 5m3, and features a Bi-Link rear suspension for smooth operation and handling.

Its engine range delivers low running costs and emissions, while variants include a platform cab, the Work Up pickup, long-wheelbase and high-roof versions, crew vans and high-specification Sportivo models.

The Fiat Doblò Cargo recently won Fleet Van of the Year at the 2014 Motor Transport Awards.
