Bulk haulier picks Euro 6 MAN tractors for performance and service05 June 2014

Tautliner and bulk haulage specialist Cooper Buckley has taken delivery of three Euro 6 MAN TGX 26.480BLS 6x2 tractor units, with a further vehicle on option for delivery later in the year.

The new trucks are replacements and are already in use on a contract for a breakfast cereal producer. Initial fuel returns are reported to be 8.0mpg for this maximum weight bulk operation, taking oat-feed to farms and returning raw oats to processing plants.

"We're very pleased with initial fuel economy and we expect figures to improve over time," says Frank Buckley, managing director of the Cheshire-based haulier.

"We also have a half-tonne extra payload compared to another truck manufacturer's same-specification model we were considering."

He adds that the service from both MAN and dealer Beech's Garage was key to the repeat order.

The haulier's latest additions follow two Euro 5 MAN TopUsed tractor units acquired in October last year. Its fleet now numbers 35, three-quarters of which are MAN vehicles.
