Caledonian orders 15 new-build trailers from Cartwright19 June 2015

Caledonian Logistics has signed a deal for its first new-build trailers, ordering 10 standard and five double-deck curtainsiders from Cartwright.

Caledonian has been a rentals customer for 18 months and, says managing director Derek Mitchell, the new trailers will be used for general haulage work.

"We will also continue to rent trailers from Cartwright on an ad hoc basis," Mitchell says. "Cartwright is an established British company with a very good reputation and quality products. The service from them has been very good."

In a separate announcement, Cartwright says it is seeking 50 apprentices to start in August and is holding assessment days next month.

From 20 to 24 July, potential recruits can visit the manufacturer's Altrincham factory to see how the trailers are built, and speak to directors and staff. The assessments will include workshop activities, as well as teamwork and theoretical skills.
