Car parts firm finds Nemo delivers on fuel efficiency25 November 2013

Car and commercial vehicle parts distributor Mill Autoquip has boosted its 100-strong Citroen LCV fleet with 40 Nemo X and six Berlingo vans.

The South West-based firm chose the Nemo X HDi 75 manual 660 vans, which are fitted with a 55bhp Euro 5 diesel engine, which gives 62.8mpg on the combined cycle. Each has a 660kg payload capacity and 2.5m3 of load volume.

With the standard Extenso seat folded flat, the load volume rises to 2.8m3 and items up to 2.49m long can be carried.

"The Nemo, with its combination of excellent fuel economy, load capacity and the Extenso folding seat – which allows us to carry exhaust systems – fulfils our requirements for most day-to-day deliveries," says fleet manager Tony Watson.

"We use the Berlingos to transport the heavier items, such as parts from our dedicated commercial vehicle branch in Redruth."

Mill Autoquip purchases most of its vehicles outright and keeps them for three years, during which time they clock up around 100,000 miles.

The vehicles were supplied by Cornish dealer Hawkins Motors.
