Cartwright hooks up with Bradshaw for trailer movers17 February 2016

Bodybuilder and trailer manufacturer The Cartwright Group has improved production flow and safety at its plant with seven electric trailer movers from Bradshaw Electric Vehicles.

Having tried other methods, Cartwright needed a better solution to move the trailers – which can weigh up to 13 tonnes – through the manufacturing process at its Altrincham, Cheshire, facility.

The answer came with Bradshaw’s electric PT1500, a compact pedestrian-controlled vehicle, designed to move articulated lorry trailers of up to 15 tonnes. Due to its size of just 1060mm wide, 3350mm long, and three-wheel configuration, the vehicle has excellent maneuverability, making it easy to operate and move trailers in and out of tight spaces.

The PT1500’s safety features include an emergency stop button and body protection switch, which automatically stops the vehicle if it comes into contact with the operator.

Cartwright has purchased seven PT1500 trailer movers from Bradshaw in the last 12 months, which have now replaced its previous tugs.

Cartwright’s Shaun Swann says: “The company profile fitted our requirement at Cartwrights to develop a high specification of vehicle, with Bradshaw allowing us to meet the increasing operational demands of the business.”
