Cartwright Rentals sets sights on expansion with £20m revenue milestone08 July 2014

Trailer manufacturer Cartwright is reporting record annual revenue of £20 million for its rentals division, driven by its ability, it says, to offer quality products at a competitive price.

Since it was established in 2007, the rentals division has established itself as a key part of the business and now boasts a 5,000-strong trailer fleet which has 90%-plus utilisation.

The company says it is planning to increase its trailer park and is looking to expand its network with additional sites in the Home Counties and around the M62 corridor Leeds/Barnsley area.

"Furthermore, we will be expanding the fleet of XL and L bodied curtainsiders," says Phil Rodman, managing director. "We currently have nearly 1,000 and we see this as a key market."

He adds that the business is anticipating further revenue growth this year, as the trend continues for operators to rent before they buy: "It is still a price-sensitive market, but our competitive pricing combined with quality rental products is maintaining our position ahead of the competition."
