Charles Jackson opts for PPG blower and tipper trailers08 March 2011

Agricultural processing specialist Charles Jackson & Co has chosen PPG for two trailers, citing low unladen weight, high capacity and durability as key reasons.

The company recently took delivery of a PPG blower and tipper trailer to augment its small but varied trailer fleet and, according to transport manager Liz Maddison, it has proved to be the right move.

"We decided on PPG because we got such good service from a United trailer that we have had for a good number of years," says Maddison.

The tipper gives Charles Jackson a half tonne payload advantage over other comparable trailers in the fleet, she says, while the blower has allowed the company to increase its payloads.

"Both trailers are built to a very high standard and we've had no problems with them at all, not even the sort of teething troubles you normally associate with new equipment," says Maddison.

As the new trailers have to operate in farm yards and other areas where manoeuvrability is an issue, they were specified with lifting third axles. The trailers will clock up around 100,000km a year.
