CILT: new member grade for National Apprenticeship Week 10 March 2015

CILT (Chartered institute of Logistics and Transport) has introduced a new apprentice affiliate membership grade to coincide with National Apprentice Week (9–13 March 2015).

Apprentice members get the annual electronic membership for £25, the objective being to make it accessible to young people.

However, CILT says it will also develop this grade to benefit employers – helping them to fill the skills gap and bringing on the next generation of transport and logistics professionals.

"Our new apprenticeship member grade will support young people in the early stages of their career," explains CILT chief executive Steve Agg.

"Membership of CILT enables the apprentice to meet and network with other leading professionals, giving them a competitive edge in our demanding industry," he adds.

Joining CILT as an apprentice member provides access to more than 350 national, regional and local sector-specific events.

Other benefits include unlimited access to CILT's collection of logistics, supply chain and transport information, as well as legal and compliance information.
