Coach operator picks up versatility with Irizar i629 August 2018

Scottish coach operator Doig’s of Glasgow has taken delivery of two i6 Integral vehicles, replacing two older Irizars on its fleet.

The latest additions, from Irizar (UK), are a 12.2m, 53-seater, two-axle i6, and a 12.9m, two-axle, 57-seater i6.

Both have identical drivelines, with DAF MX-11 271 364bhp engines driving ZF’s AS Tronic 12-speed automated manual transmissions.

Safety features include CCTV and security hammers with wiring and alarms.

Inside, they have i6 Plus seating in full leather with seat-back tables, Actia video and Bosch audio systems, and central sunken toilets plus kitchen areas with drinks machines.

“Irizar can supply a very versatile 57-seat vehicle with a toilet on two axles,” says Iain Forsyth, director and transport manager at Doig’s.

“This specification provides us with a coach equally capable of undertaking extended tour work or day hires.”

The coaches are expected to be in operation for four years and will be maintained in-house.
