Comma’s digital watermark aimed at outwitting piracy 13 May 2013

Following an upgrade of its TransFlow commercial vehicle engine oils, Comma has introduced a digitally watermarked label on all packs and products.

Smartphones and tablets equipped with the free Clic2c app can thus be used to scan the pack to establish its authenticity – and to check for appropriate TransFlow product and application areas.

"The product piracy and forgery that besets the aftermarket has undermined the authenticity of too many brands for too long," state Comma sales and marketing director, Mike Bewsey.

"Distributors and technicians need the assurance that what they are buying and fitting is the legitimate, genuine article," he continues.

"This latest initiative goes hand-in-hand with our product quality guarantee which applies to every Comma recommended application."
