Dust buster trucks are MAN enough for the job 30 April 2010

Bowser and sweeper hire firm T&M Plant, in Horley, Surrey, has added two more MAN 18-tonne 4x4 dust suppression vehicles to its specialist plant hire fleet.

T&M's Terry Beasley sasy that two Euro-5 TGM 18.290 4x4 BB chassis have been delivered, with 10,000 litre capacity tank-bodies from Maidment Tankers in Littlehampton.

The company has seven other Euro-4-engined TGMs on its dust suppression fleet. A further two ADR-specification TGM 18-tonne chassis are also en-route, as additions into T&M's fuel bowser fleet.

"The 4x4 MAN is quite simply the best truck on the market for our needs," comments Beasley. "We ran another German marque previously, but MAN has raised the bar with its latest 4x4 TGM specification."

He also comments on the absence of an AdBlue requirement: "[That] has always been problematic – especially when we're operating away from our site where supplies of the additive are, at best, scarce."

T&M's new dust suppression units are already on contracts with local authorities and construction companies where, with the onset of drier weather, dust is becoming an increasing health and safety issue.
