Everywoman awards winners revealed17 May 2010

The votes have been counted, and the winners have been announced. No, we're not talking about the General Election: this is the 2010 MAN everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

The title of Woman of the Year has gone to Helen Halpin, regional operations manager of Bulky Bob's from Liverpool.

Helen started work at Bulky Bob's as part of the integral team that set up the operation - collecting waste from local authorities to re-use and recycle as much furniture as possible.

She now manages the Liverpool, Oldham and Warrington operations, and satellite sites, including a furniture store; leading 51 people in addition to developing and implementing new re-use and recycling activities.

Other winners included: Anne Preston MBE, chairman of Richard Preston & Son, from Northallerton, who won Director of the Year; Transaid's Caroline Barber, Rising Star of the Year Award; and Charlotte Russell from GIST People Services, who is the Industry Trainer of the Year Award.

DHL's Lucy Parker picked up the Warehousing Award, while commercial driver of the year is Vicky Taylor, who works for Home Delivery Network.

Now in their third year, and run in association with Skills for Logistics, the honours celebrate the achievements of women in the sector.
