Cartwright enters home delivery with major order from ASDA01 October 2010

Manchester based body and trailer manufacturer Cartwright Group has confirmed an order for 50 3.5 tonne Iveco vehicles, with automatic gear boxes, from retail giant Asda.

Each home delivery vehicle has been bodied to carry 105 tote boxes and accommodate chilled, frozen and ambient produce.

It's the group's first step into the home delivery market, although Asda is already a significant customer on the trailers side of the business, with recent additions including Cartwright's Cheetah range.

John Rogerson, fleet contracts manager of Asda Stores, says: "As a key supply partner, Cartwright has supplied a wide range of trailer specifications and designs over the last eight years. This latest order extends our requirements from them to our home delivery vehicles."

Cartwright Group director Steven Cartwright comments: "We see the home delivery sector as a major market for the future and we are confident our long experience of manufacturing and innovative style will help us to build market share in this growing sector of the marketplace."
