Oil tanker Driver CPC gets clean bill of health 05 August 2010

The Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS) has received a glowing audit report from JAUPT (the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training), for its Driver CPC training.

FPS Certificate of Professional Competence training was set up in 2009 for oil distribution tanker drivers, and more than 1,000 have been through its training.

JAUPT's audit found that that FPS has a team of well qualified trainers and comments 'The trainer was very engaging, with an excellent depth of knowledge about the industry and its unique operating procedures. He developed an excellent rapport with the drivers, thereby ensuring that they were all engaged in the process."

FPS chief executive Susan Hancock says: "It is excellent news that, following the rigorous audit by JAUPT, our CPC driver training was given the green light, with some very positive comments. The auditor said that we offered a well run and controlled Approved Training Centre, providing good relevant training."

And she adds: "As far as we are aware, we are the only organisation to offer customised CPC training for oil distributors and we hope that in 2011 we reach the 2,000 mark for drivers trained."
