Zenith says MAN telematics give alpha performance 02 August 2010

Zenith Logistics in Chepstow has expanded its fleet of MAN tractor units, with an additional six TGX 26.440BLS 6x2s, bringing the total to 35.

Peter Keates, managing director of Zenith, has also gone for MAN's driver performance tool, MAN EcoStyle, and says that routes to efficiency improvement are already becoming clear.

Based on MAN vehicle telematics, EcoStyle provides information, in real time, on how drivers are performing and how profitably its vehicles are operating, he explains.

"It's early days yet," he says, "but we are already collating some excellent feedback and have identified clearly some areas where efficiencies can be made."

He also says that the latest batch of XLX-cabbed units will be joined by a further two XXL-cabbed TGXs later this year. "The trucks are superb; one '08 chassis, for example, is clocking 130,000 miles-a-year and it hasn't missed a beat."

The fleet was acquired through MAN Finance on three year contract hire agreements, and will be serviced and maintained at MAN's Truck Centre in Cardiff, WG Davies.
