Supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials of Deeside, the FMX 8x4 rigid features an X-High B Ride 5,100mm wheelbase chassis with a Day cab and is powered by a D11K engine rated at 410hp driving through the I-Shift automated manual transmission system.
Designed in conjunction with Eco-Readymix, the truck’s Roltech Multi-Pod ready mix mortar body is equipped with five separate compartments for multiple product deliveries.
“Our multi-compartment bodies are under constant development and the latest Volvo FMX 8x4 rigid moves the bar upward again,” says Gary Billington, owner and managing director of the Wrexham-based operator.
“Volvo Trucks are equal to the best around and they seem to carry weight better than any other marque,” he adds.
Eco-Readymix has taken delivery of nine Volvo trucks in the last 18 months; all are multi-compartment ready mix transporters.
The latest vehicle, like its predecessors, is supplied with a four-year Volvo Gold R&M contract.
