Construction supplier builds for growth with MAN fleet27 February 2014

Construction industry supplier Kane Group has completed a 12-month fleet upgrade with 27 MAN trucks, including 24 eight-wheel tippers, two heavy-haulage tractors and an 18-tonne road-sweeper chassis.

The acquisitions include TGS 35.400 8x4 muckaway chassis, 26.540BLS 6x4 150-tonne heavy-haulage tractor units and a Johnson-bodied, TGM 18.240 left-hand-drive sweeper.

The fleet has been supplied with a three-year R&M and extended warranty package from dealer John Arnold Commercials.

St Albans-based Kane Group took its first MAN vehicles almost 30 years ago. Since then, it has used other marques but decided to return to MAN to meet an upturn in business, as managing director Andy Kane explains: "MAN produces a good, solid, reliable truck – just how I remember them during the 'boom' years of the 80s.

"In late 2012, I anticipated growth in the construction sector I was keen to have an up-to-date fleet to meet the increased demand."
