Continental demonstrates ContiConnect Live at IAA show20 September 2018

Continental is demonstrating an app designed for real-time tyre pressure monitoring at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show (Hanover; 20-27 September).

ContiConnect Live, available from the second quarter of 2019, informs operators of truck and bus fleets immediately if there is a problem with tyre pressure or temperature, even when the vehicle is on the road. The data is transferred to the servers and web portal by the ContiConnect Driver app, which is also new.

Continental says the app will be able to show tyre information on Daimler Fleetboard and TomTom Telematics devices, as well as on other Android devices, such as smartphones and tablets, initially in the driver’s cab.

The company also says it will be updating the ContiConnect web portal next month, with new settings options and an improved appearance.

“ContiConnect Live integrates our digital solutions for commercial vehicle tyres into the existing in-vehicle systems and displays,” says Nikolai Setzer, head of the company’s tyre division.

“Fleet customers can thus embark on digital tyre management on the basis of their existing devices. Finally, we are enabling them to draw an even greater benefit from digitalisation and achieve a new level of efficiency in tyre management.”
