Council orders new 35-strong fleet from Specialist Fleet Services21 December 2018

Kettering Borough Council has renewed its contract with Specialist Fleet Services (SFS) for a further nine years and has ordered new vehicles to operate on its newly merged operation with Corby Borough Council.

SFS will provide the 35-strong fleet, which includes refuse trucks, recycling vehicles, sweepers, tipper trucks and transit vans, due for delivery in February. Pictured is one of the new RCVs in build at Dennis Eagle’s factory, Warwick.

Brendan Coleman, Kettering’s head of environmental care, says: “Merging our services in this way means that we can share resources and ultimately provide better value for money to local residents across both areas.

“We are confident that the implementation of a new, fit-for-purpose fleet in Corby will lead to immediate service improvements in the area.”

SFS has supplied vehicles to Kettering Borough Council for more than 15 years, with the contract covering vehicle supply, maintenance and workshop management.
