Courtney Group to upgrade with Optare Solo SRs 26 September 2012

Berkshire-based Courtney Coach Group has ordered 11 Optare Solo SRs for its bus fleet renewal programme, aimed at keeping the maximum age at five years.

Deliveries of these fuel-efficient buses will commence next month (November 2012) and complete n January 2013.

Ten of the vehicles are the standard width Solo SR at 9.0 metres long. They will be equipped with Esteban Civic V3 seating and also feature Synetics CCTV and Hanover LED destination equipment. The eleventh vehicle is a SlimLine variant, which at 2.35 metres wide will be used on some of Courtney's narrower routes.

"Operating in both corporate business parks and public bus services, it was imperative that we chose vehicles that could not only deliver a reliable service, but also portray a professional image for our corporate clients," comments Bill Courtney, managing director of Courtney Coaches.

"In addition, operating costs are such a major factor in today's marketplace, it is imperative to get the right mix of being able to deliver cost effective solutions while catering for passengers' demands," he adds.
