Cracking dock solution is no yoke for Manton Eggs 22 June 2012

Lifting equipment provider Transdek has designed, engineered and installed a bespoke loading system for egg processing company Manton Eggs.

The project was managed by Transdek, from initial consultation to completion, and incorporated the V2G (vehicle to ground) lift and a warehouse extension to facilitate Manton's expansion.

Harrogate-based company Manton Eggs operates one of the UK's largest egg processing facilities, and as part of its expansion plans, needed to increase its warehousing to handle inbound and outbound deliveries while also optimising loading efficiencies.

Transdek installed its V2G lift that enables the company to unload products from vehicles to ground level at its flat floor site. The firm also incorporated an inspection area, allowing eggs to be examined for quality purposes prior to entering the processing plant.

"Transdek offered a very cost effective solution that met or exceeded all our criteria," comments Mark Openshaw, plant operations manager at Manton Eggs.

"The entire project was managed seamlessly and quickly. The new extension with V2G lift has significantly improved our operational efficiency and can easily handle our planned growth."
