Customers show faith in Scania coaches07 June 2016

Two longstanding Scania customers have placed repeat orders, after previous vehicles proved their worth in operation.

Radley and Appleby Coach Holidays marked its 25th anniversary with a new Scania Irizar i6, supplied to full luxury touring specification. Owner Kevin Radley cites the dedicated European support network and two-year repair and maintenance programme as key reasons for his order.

Supplied by Scania Scunthorpe, the vehicle (pictured) is based upon a Scania K 410 EB4x2 chassis with Scania’s 410bhp Euro 6 engine and fully automated Opticruise gear-selection system. The Irizar i6 body has 49 seats with leather headrests, a Bosch Professional Line AV system, satellite navigation, reversing camera and centre washroom.

Elsewhere, Doncaster-based Wilfreda Beehive has acquired its first Euro 6 vehicles, adding two Scania K 410 EB6x2*4 Euro 6 chassis with the new 14.07-metre version of Irizar’s i6 body to its fleet.

Both feature 59 PB seats with wings, extra-tinted windows, inverter, crew bunk, USB sockets to each seat, alloy wheels, CCTV, kerb lighting system, Bosch Professional Line Radio/CD/PA system and Bluetooth telephone system.

The coaches are supplied with a two-year R&M contract and extended driveline warranties, and this latest order ensures the operator’s tri-axle touring fleet remains 100% Scania.
