DAF dealer opens doors to would-be apprentices04 February 2019

DAF dealer Ford & Slater is holding three open evenings next week to promote its HGV technician apprenticeships.

At the events, Ford & Slater is offering students and school leavers the chance to find out more about the apprenticeship scheme. The company employs 50 apprentices across its ten dealer locations.

“Recruiting the next generation of transport industry professionals is of vital importance to the Ford & Slater group,” says Lee Sursham, apprenticeship coordinator. “Our 2018 events had over 100 prospective students and family members attend, finding out first-hand what our apprenticeships programmes are about.”

Beginning in Norwich on 12 February, youngsters will be able to tour the site and speak to current and past apprentices, as well as try their hand at various technical tasks such as electrics, welding, inspections and diagnostics.

The other two open evenings take place in Peterborough (13 February) and Leicester (14 February).
