DAF dealer opens new parts store28 October 2016
DAF dealership Ford & Slater has opened a new flagship TRP (Truck Related Parts) parts store on the site of its customer, FW Abbott, at Kettering Business Park.
Owned by Paccar, TRP caters for all makes of trucks and trailers, and is available across the DAF dealer network as well as TRP stores.
Ford & Slater had already discussed managing stock for DAF and other parts for FW Abbott, including supplying a dedicated member of staff, hence the idea to use the facility as a TRP store.
Teams from Ford & Slater and FW Abbott worked together to complete the necessary site changes in just four months – including improved access, mezzanine floor and driver waiting area.
The store opened on 1 October, with a £130,000 investment in parts stock.
Richard Burton, managing director of FW Abbott, says: “I’d like to thank Ford & Slater for their support and assistance in getting this project off the ground. I am extremely pleased with the results and look forward to seeing its benefits to our business.”
