DAF unveils three-axle options for CF truck with PX-7 engine20 July 2015

DAF has announced new three-axle options for the Euro 6 CF with Paccar PX-7 engine, all of which combine a higher payload with the 6.7-litre, six-cylinder engine.

The first is the FAR, featuring a 7.5-tonne trailing axle with single wheels behind the 11.5-tonne drive axle. This gives the 26-tonne gvw vehicle a body and payload allowance of almost 19 tonnes.

The second is the FAS, which has twin tyres on the rearmost axle for heavier duty applications such as hookloaders. Both the FAR and FAS are ideal, says DAF, for payload critical applications in local and regional distribution.

Completing the line-up is the FAN, offering higher payload with maximum manoeuvrability thanks to the smallest turning circle, both laden and unladen.

All the new models with the trailing rear axle are available with Day Cab, Sleeper Cab and Space Cab.

The 6.7-litre, six-cylinder PX-7 engine offers power ratings of 283bhp or 314bhp. A manual nine-speed transmission is offered as standard, with an AS Tronic automated 12-speed gearbox as an option.

The new models can be ordered now, with production starting early November.
