Dawsonrentals handles Dennis Dart upgrades 21 October 2011

Milton Keynes-based Dawsonrentals Bus and Coach is currently refurbishing 15 of TfL's (Transport for London's) fleet of Dennis Dart single deck buses.

The refurbishment extends to all areas of the vehicles, including new interiors, with the comfort of drivers also being improved during hot weather operation by upgrading the previously installed air conditioning to Webasto's roof-mounted CC4E system.

Dawsonrentals selected the Webasto system to take advantage of the cooling performance, coupled with the unit's compact design and low weight. CC4E offers cooling independent of the vehicle's primary cooling circuit and simply requires a connection to the battery for operation.

Paul Sainthouse, Dawsonrentals managing director, says he is pleased with the progress of the refurbishment contract. "The upgraded buses are going back into service as quickly as we can carry out the necessary works.

"I've great admiration for the skills of all bus drivers working in London and hopefully the performance of the new air conditioning systems will make their hours on the roads more comfortable than before. Webasto has proved a good choice for us."
