Dearden rates Renault Range T for payload and fuel 03 October 2014

Haulage and aggregate supplier PJ and J Dearden (Chard) has taken delivery of its first Renault Truck – a new T460 6x2 tractor unit, which replaces a Mercedes Actros.

The Euro 6 truck, supplied by Renault Trucks South West, joins Dearden's eight-strong Iveco, Volvo and Scania fleet.

"We started looking for a new vehicle at the CV Show and we were interested to find out more about the Renault," comments Dearden's owner director, Helen Dearden.

"One of our drivers then trialled the new Range T at a Renault Trucks open day event and was really impressed," she says.

Dearden points out that the vehicle has only been on the road a couple of weeks but adds that she is already "delighted by the payload and fuel efficiency", particularly given the challenges of Cornish roads.

"Our driver is also really happy and has been particularly impressed by the vehicle's torque on hills when it's fully laden."

The Range T is being used for general haulage for Dearden's customers across the UK and also sub-contracting work for Gregory Distribution.
