Furniture logistics business WS Dennison has taken delivery of six Dry Liner box trailers from Krone, citing the equipment’s ability to meet high security transport requirements.

“Needless to say, secure loading and effective protection of cargo during transport are paramount to ensure every item of furniture arrives with the customer in perfect condition,” says Pamela Dennison.

The Irish firm has depots in Antrim and Limerick, where furniture arrives from the UK, Europe and China every week for deliveries across the country.

The new Dry Liners, it says, work well from a security stand point but also for the load capacity – the roof does not require internal roof bars so, for example, a 40ft container can easily be ‘de-stuffed’ into one trailer. The trailer guards against water ingress and tampering and, thanks to roof insulation, there is no condensation.

Designed for the UK, Ireland and European markets, WS Dennison’s Dry Liners are Code XL certified and have a fifth wheel height of 1,250mm, giving an overall height of 4,100mm and an internal height of 2,700mm. This gives loading advantages as well as fuel efficiency through reduced drag.

“The smooth side walls retain 40% of the load while the front bulkhead is tested to 50%,” adds Dennison.

“This, coupled with the flush-fit rear doors, gives us high strength on the one hand and a perfect surface for our distinctive livery on the other.”
