Eddie Stobart awards five-year tyre contract to Goodyear08 September 2014

Logistics giant Eddie Stobart has awarded a five-year deal to Goodyear Dunlop for tyre management across its 2,500 trailers and 4,000 trailers.

The contract will see Stobart using Goodyear's KMax and FuelMax tyres for its fleet. It also includes roadside assistance and support from Goodyear's maintenance arm, TruckForce.

"At any one time, we have up to 38,000 tyres on the road travelling up and down the country, so an efficient and effective product and service package is vital to our business," says David Pickering, Eddie Stobart's managing director.

As well as the fuel-efficient tyres, Pickering says the package offered by Goodyear was very attractive. "We will benefit from full-time, on-site fitters and robust service levels to improve tyre husbandry.

"The combination of innovative new products and service levels tailored to our business needs helps us to maximise the efficiencies of our fleet and our own customer service standards."
