Edinburgh Coach Lines specify Volvo for Megabus 21 September 2011

Edinburgh Coach Lines has purchased four Volvo B9R Plaxton Panther coaches to run on its Megabus contract.

They join three existing Volvo 9700 coaches, which have been added to the Scottish company's 26-strong fleet in the past 12 months.

Fitted with a D9B six-cylinder direct injection, Euro 5 diesel engine, rated at 380bhp, and matched to the Volvo I-Shift gearbox, the B9R coach combines exceptional ride and drive provides what Edinburgh Coach Lines views as ergonomic and efficient performance.

Each coach has been built with 49 seats, all having three-point safety belts, plus a demountable toilet, alloy wheels, air-conditioning, fridge and a boiler. The new vehicles are also fully DDA compliant and were specified with front entrance wheelchair access.
