Enva uncovers productivity boost with Harsh sheeting system 17 March 2020

Recycling business Enva is specifying Harsh Roll n Go sheeting systems for waste trailers operating from its company’s Glasgow depot, citing improved safety and productivity.

The side to side, hydraulically operated sheeting systems are replacing manual covers fitted to Enva’s 92m3 capacity Legras walking floor trailers.

The new system is controlled remotely by the driver, avoiding the need to climb up on the trailer or even to leave the cab. In addition, the process now takes seconds rather than up to five minutes.

“By eliminating any risk to the driver from strain or injury when operating the sheet, the Harsh system gives us clear and obvious safety advantages,” says Irvine Morrison, Enva’s head of transport and logistics.

As the top of these trailers are over 15ft off the ground, anything that removes the need for a driver to be on the trailer at all has to be good news.

The sheet is made from hardwearing 900gsm vinyl, and the assembly was fitted by Harsh’s local service dealer CCS Scotland.
