Enviro-Clean turns to Whale for fund raising tanker 13 March 2015

Waste management firm Enviro-Clean (Scotland) has taken delivery of a bespoke Whale Tankers Kaiser-Whale continuous water recycling truck – and branded the tanker to support two leading charities.

One side of the new tanker cab is in white and promotes Water Aid, while the opposite side, in pink, supports Breakthrough breast cancer, with the firm donating £1 to each charity for every hour the vehicle is used.

The tanker itself was supplied by Volvo Truck & Bus Centre North and Scotland, Glasgow East, and is built on a 32-tonne gvw 8x4 rigid with a 6,400mm wheelbase, 460bhp Euro 6 engine and a Globetrotter cab.

It also has an enhanced I-Shift automated gearbox with multiple power-take-off functions, uprated front steel spring suspension and a high chassis ride height.

The vehicle body has been equipped for combined high-performance jetting and vacuum operations, with integral filtration for continuous water recycling.

"We selected the Kaiser-Whale based on its performance, proven technology and reliability," states Jim McLusky, managing director of Enviro-Clean.

"We've used many of their vehicles over the last 20 years and we are confident that we know what we're getting when we turn to Whale," he continues.

"Of particular importance to us is their team of Scottish based service engineers, who are able to respond quickly to any maintenance requirements, which is something we can't get from other manufacturers."

The new tanker will be used primarily in Scotland, but also deployed on work with some English water companies.
