Euro 6 DAF LF Aerobody set to go Europe wide 11 February 2014

With UK operators reporting fuel savings of more than 5% from DAF LF trucks equipped with Paccar Aerobody, bodied versions of the new Euro 6 LF are now being produced for other European markets.

Since all Paccar bodies built by Leyland Trucks in the UK already have EC Whole Vehicle Type Approval, they can be registered across all EU member states.

LF Aerobody combines a set of fairings, side collars and rear air diffusers claimed to deliver up to 8% fuel economy and carbon emission improvement, compared to a conventional body, at a cruising speed of 53mph on the new Euro 6 LF.

For European markets, the LF Aerobody is available with internal lengths of 6.75 and 7.05 metres, for carrying 16 or 17 Euro pallets. A tail lift with a lifting capacity of 1,500 kg is fitted as a standard and the LF Aerobody can be fitted with an optional door on either side of the body.

In the UK, the LF Aerobody is available at 7.5, 10 and 12 tonnes gvw, in a choice of three body lengths and with a range of tail-lift and other options.

Euro 6 engines available are: the 4.5-litre, four-cylinder Paccar PX-5 engine and the 6.7-litre, six-cylinder Paccar PX-7, with ratings between 152bhp and 253bhp.

British DAF dealers have a fleet of 26 LF Aerobody demonstrators available for interested operators.
