“We do everything to keep our drivers happy and the Range T High delivers with its large, flat floor sleeper cab,” explains Euro UK Moves Group’s company director and transport manager, Vittorio Gismondi.
Supplied by Renault Trucks Essex, the Range T High has been built to Euro UK Moves Group’s detailed requirements, featuring a bespoke Kurt Hobbs Coachworks removals body. The new truck is used on European runs to Italy, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal and Spain as well as domestic work for private and trade clients.
The left-hand drive Range T High sleeper cab, in Ultimate Alu finish with Ultimate upper bunk, includes a 40-litre fridge and Renault Trucks’ built in entertainment system, as well as bespoke additions.
Gismondi adds: “The new vehicle is fitted with a Transvend Renater heater and wash unit on sliders inside one of the lockers so the driver can make hot drinks. It has also has a side scan pedestrian warning system, interior and exterior LED lighting and Renault Trucks’ factory-specified rear camera; all of these extras help make the driver’s life easier and more comfortable on board.”
The Kurt Hobbs Coachworks rigid body is a low height sub-frame, maximum height vehicle and has an overall length of 11.83 metres, maximum width of 2.55 metres, and a tare weight of 11,980 kg – all designed to maximise payload.
“By working with Renault Trucks and Kurt Hobbs Coachworks Ltd we have been able to increase our volume by 8-10% which is crucial in running a profitable business,” continues Gismondi. “In order to maximise space and payload, there’s a second deck for loading over cars too. As well as having a more fuel efficient Euro-6 engine, we were also able to specify two fuel tanks so we can fill up on route in Luxemburg where we save, on average, 30 pence per litre. Being able to do this every two weeks or so saves us a significant amount on our fuel bill. Fuel theft can be a huge and expensive problem so we’ve also included lockable doors over the fuel fillers to deter would-be thieves.”
Shaun Warren, operations director at Kurt Hobbs Coachworks comments: “The vehicle has also been future-proofed with an adjustable spring-assisted under-run bar for possible VBG coupling fit, giving Euro UK Moves Group the option of building a trailer to tow behind the existing truck and further increase capacity as their business grows.”
The efficient Range T High is equipped with DTI 13-litre engine, 12-speed Optidriver automated transmission, and Optivision gear shifting strategy optimised for Fuel Eco. Its rear-steer axle delivers extra manoeuvrability for working in tight access areas such as London’s congested streets. Full air suspension on front and back axles helps reduce loading height, and gives a more comfortable ride. Maintenance is undertaken by authorised Renault Trucks Repairer, MTHL, who originally supplied the sales lead to Renault Trucks.
