Europe’s largest vacuum tanker shines though with Glasurit paints 10 June 2016

What’s thought to be Europe’s largest vacuum tanker – Hydro Cleansing’s new 44-tonne Scania R730 Highline, from Whale Tankers, also known as the Terminator – was painted using new Glasurit 68 Line paint technology.

Whale Tankers says it chose Glasurit 68 Line for its “enhanced finish and higher gloss”, observing that the system’s new 284-90 primer and 568-M135 binder combination der enables the top coat to achieve better lay down and levelling.

“Every part of the truck is important, even down to the last few microns, which are probably the most critical but are often forgotten,” enthuses Mark Warmington, managing director of Whale Tankers.

“We provide a complete solution to customers, including shot blasting and painting in-house so the longevity and quality of the paint product we use has to be totally correct from both an aesthetic as well as an engineering point of view.”

Warmington adds that Glasurit provides good technical support and says that its offering is “second to none.”

“We’re now into the third year of our partnership with Whale Tankers, and the ongoing support and product development we provide is vital to ensure that our relationship continues to go from strength to strength,” comments Mark Appleton of Glasurit.

The orange paint was a RAL colour match, which was then custom coloured by Whale Tankers in conjunction with Glasurit to meet Hydro Cleansing’s requirements.
