Falck UK boosts non-emergency fleet with 92 MAN TGE ambulances24 June 2019

Ambulance provider Falck has taken delivery of 92 MAN TGE vehicles for its non-emergency ambulance fleet, operating from a new base in Wembley.

The TGE vans are all rear-wheel-drive, 3,140mm medium wheelbase high roof models. They are powered by 2.0-litre turbo diesel Euro 6 engines delivering 138bhp, driving through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The vehicles were converted by Cartwright Conversions and feature a moulded interior lining and a new composite non-slip floor, along with rear access ramps and additional side-loading door steps.

The conversion also includes NMI recessed floor tracking for stretchers, wheelchairs and additional seating, along with USB charging points.

Safety features include emergency brake assist, crosswind assist and a multi-collision brake function. The vehicles also have audible front and rear parking sensors.

The TGEs are supplied with a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty.

“These new cutting-edge MAN TGE-based ambulances, all equipped and built using the latest patient transport healthcare practices, will help us deliver not only a greater level of operational excellence, but a more efficient and modern level of service throughout the cycle of patient care,” says Simon Thwaites, head of fleet for Falck UK.
