First Bus gives green light to driver and fleet performance improvement27 October 2015

Bus operator First Bus has renewed its contract with driver behaviour and fleet performance solution provider GreenRoad for a further three years, after reporting a “positive impact” on the business.

GreenRoad has provided the technology to power First Bus’s DriveGreen initiative for the last six years.

In-cab devices monitor vehicle operations, with an LED indicator giving instant feedback to drivers when they carry out manoeuvres such as braking, accelerating and turning.

Drivers are scored on the number of events, with lower scores indicating safer and more fuel-efficient driving behaviour.

Mark Munday, technical director at First Bus (pictured, left, with Andy Cozens, GreenRoad’s global director of sales for bus & coach solutions), says: “We’re pleased to be continuing a successful partnership with GreenRoad.

“The DriveGreen technology has made a positive impact on our business, helping us to improve our safety performance, reduce emissions, improve fuel efficiency and provide a smoother journey for our customers.”
