The facility on the Righead Industrial Estate, Bellshill, previously sold vans as well as Mercedes-Benz and Fuso Canter trucks. The workshop team continue to maintain and repair commercial vehicles of all sizes, but Western says the new facility will deliver an even quicker, more focused service for truck operators.
The change in approach was prompted by the manufacturer’s ‘customer dedication’ strategy – recognising that while many operators run trucks and vans, the majority of customers for trucks and vans have different expectations and requirements of their supplier.
“Customer Dedication is all about meeting those different needs,” says Western Commercial dealer principal Andrew Smith. “In the case of trucks, this means providing hauliers and other operators with facilities and services which are perfectly tailored to the vehicles they run, and the legislative framework within which they work.”
Moving new and used vans elsewhere, he adds, has freed up space for heavy vehicles on the site.
“We’re also about to open a new vehicle PDI and preparation centre adjacent to our Broxburn dealership,” Smith adds. “This will free up pressure on the workshop teams at Bellshill and our other main branches, allowing us to further reduce lead times for planned maintenance and be even more responsive when it comes to emergency breakdowns.”
Western Commercial has also restructured its truck sales team.
The Bellshill workshop is open round-the-clock throughout the week, and on Saturdays and Sundays. The dealer also provides Service 24h emergency roadside assistance, 365 days of the year.
