First Don-Bur trailers for Hayton Coulthard16 March 2018

Scottish haulier Hayton Coulthard Transport has taken delivery of the first of an order of curtainsider trailers from Don-Bur.

The order is the first time the Kirkcudbright-based operator has ordered Don-Bur units, with the first of the 13.7m tri-axle curtainsiders going into operation at the end of February.

With a heavy-duty design, the units are 4.378m high with 2.8m apertures to the back and sides. Suitable for ferry operation, the pillarless bodywork comes with a hard-wearing 29mm floor and the body is rated to EN 12642 XL standards, and the trailers feature an aerodynamic front dome and rear roof air diffuser.

Duncan Coulthard Jnr, managing director at Hayton Coulthard and the fourth generation of the family to run the business, says the trailers are “the best quality curtain trailers I have ever seen”.

Early feedback from drivers, he adds, has been “exceptional”.
