First new Volvo arrives for Three Star Coaches 20 November 2012

Luton-based Three Star Coaches has added its first new Volvo coach to the fleet – a B9R with Sunsundegui bodywork.

"I needed a coach that would offer prestige and undoubtedly Volvo provides that," explains Three Star Coaches owner Colin Dudley.

"They are the leading manufacturer in the market as far as I'm concerned, in terms of vehicles and from my experience of their aftermarket service," he adds.

The operator's new D9B 9.4-litre B9R coach – which is rated at 390bhp and was specified with the Volvo I-Shift gearbox – joins the company's 15-strong fleet and has gone straight into active service.

"The vehicle has been purchased for a developing part of our business – the day trip programme," reveals Dudley.

Dudley says the purchase was made after much research. "With Volvo, the reliability is always excellent and that played a major role in my decision," he says.

"In addition, Jo Standbridge and the Volvo sales team gave us great support and allowed me to trade in an older vehicle."
